Tri-pulley

In 2020, Lamia Karkour and Nadine Hassan founded Tri-pulley NGO in response to the crisis, aiming to shift the charity mentality by creating temporary job opportunities for skilled individuals who would, in turn, provide services to vulnerable families and small enterprises affected by various crises in Tripoli and Beirut. They partnered with USJ Université Pour Tous to scale up this approach, focusing on job inclusion for persons with disabilities (PWD). Under SJIP, they received a grant to identify and place skilled individuals in jobs, providing training, coaching, and support.

Tri-pulley’s services include creating temporary jobs for social causes, offering professional skills upgrades, visibility, and networking opportunities for skilled individuals. They also support social enterprises and offer socially and environmentally responsible products and services. Through various events and initiatives like movie screenings and game launches, they engage the community and raise funds. SJIP facilitated the creation of 35 jobs and improved the inclusion of students from institutions like USJ, with 50% finding other jobs during or after Tri-pulley’s support.

Their hybrid resources model emphasizes fundraising as a strategic tool for community empowerment and sustainability. Tri-pulley has been investing in gradually building its model, strategy, structure, SOPs, M&E tools, communication strategy, reputation, credibility, network, partnerships, community, a qualified team, and organizing innovative fundraising activities aligned with their mission. They’ve been selected as a cause for fundraising efforts by other organizations, ensuring continued support for their impactful initiatives.
