This is our story

“COSV – Coordination of Organizations for Voluntary Service” is a non-profit association founded in 1968, which operates on a non-profit basis in the field of identification, design and implementation of projects intended to support, through close collaboration with local partners, cooperation initiatives to promote sustainable development in the least developed countries or countries affected by serious environmental, humanitarian, or conflict emergencies. We have the recognition from the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs for both the design and the implementation of cooperation projects and programs, both for training and for educational activities development and awareness.

Since 2010 COSV has decided to change radically the strategy and focus only on socio-economic development, with specific geographical coverage as the MENA Balkans and Africa regions. This decision came alongside an impact evaluation process and the decision to focus on a more human-centred design intervention.

In 2015 COSV has restructured an M&E unit able to monitor better the project and apply a continuous evaluation system of COSV programs. In 2019 COSV launched a SOCIAL ECONOMY UNIT and open collaboration platform to provide technical assistance in all the COSV programs in a different area, including a cultural facilitation process among European Structure Ecosystem and the young ones.
